Welcome to Rainbow Preschool
At Rainbow Preschool we aim to provide an environment for children from age 2 to school age school age where they can be themselves - a place where they feel listened to and valued and where they experience a sense of achievement as they move forward in their learning. By providing a caring, child centred environment and stimulating activities we encourage the children to "learn through play". Our curriculum gives them the opportunity to develop at their own pace, whilst developing skills on a "whole person basis".
About Rainbow Preschool
Rainbow Preschool was started in Furnace Green in 1976 to meet the need for Preschool education in the area. In September 2010 we relocated to Southgate. Rainbow Preschool, with the support of Southgate Primary School, WSCC and funds from the Early Years Capital Grant are now in premises built on the land adjacent to the Primary School. In 2022 we expanded the Preschool by leasing the old Southgate Children and Family Centre next door. This enabled us to take children from 2 years old. Rainbow Preschool is a community based, voluntary managed Preschool. We depend on the goodwill of parents and their involvement to keep going. The Preschool is managed by a group of parents who deal with the business side of the group and organise fundraising and social events during the year. Rainbow Preschool is a member of the Learning Alliance and we have adopted their constitution. We are registered with the Charities Commission (No. 1027312)
